Spring green tea from Yunnan Province. The veiny large leaves are dark green in colour, different from the delicate small leaves of most green teas.
The aroma of the heated leaf transitions to the flavour of roasted nuts with hints of gingerbread. Time has taken away the freshness but added a creamy sweetness to this green. It is now dense and pleasant, without the tartness of its youth. The tea is sweet, warm, savoury, but when brewed with hotter water you can feel the tartness and astringency.
A good green for relaxing tea drinking. For more brightness you can experiment and add a piece of bergamot or jasmine flowers.
