This tea is the result of a successful cross between the Te Guan Yin and Huang Jin Gui varieties, carried out by Fujian tea growers in 1998.
At first glance, this Yellow Goddess of Mercy is not much different from the classic medium-fire Wuyi oolong, but the aroma... The aroma is special, with notes of flowers, cinnamon, freshly baked cakes, and walnuts. The infusion is amber in colour. The taste is pronounced but soft, not too bright, reminiscent of floral nectar. Sweet, sour, and spicy combinations of flowers, fruits, and dried berries linger and carry us away into a long aftertaste on the palate.
The tea first intoxicates, then restores strength and good mood.
