GABA Oolong
GABA tea is tea that has undergone fermentation in anaerobic conditions (without oxygen), resulting in an increased content of gamma-aminobutyric acid.
The technology for producing this tea was developed in Japan in the late 1980s. It is believed that the tea stimulates blood flow in the brain, increases brain activity and regulates metabolism, alleviates symptoms of insomnia, anxiety and depression, and relieves symptoms of alcohol intoxication.
How to brew:
Any utensils are suitable for brewing GABA oolong, but thick-walled ceramics will bring out a brighter and deeper flavour.
Brewing in stages:
1. Place 5 grams of dry tea per 100 ml in a well-heated pot and pour hot water (80-95°C) over it.
2. Pour out the first infusion: it is needed to rinse the tea.
3. Pour boiling water over the tea and leave for 5-10 seconds. For subsequent infusions, gradually increase the steeping time from 10-15 seconds to several minutes.
Steeping in a thermos:
1. Place dry tea in a preheated thermos at a ratio of 2 g per 100 ml of water and pour hot water (80-95°C) over it.
2. Steep for approx. 20 minutes, then remove the leaves so that the tea does not oversteep.
Cold infusion:
Place 10 g of dry tea in a suitable 1-litre container, pour cold filtered water over it and leave it in the refrigerator overnight. This method of preparation allows the active substances to be released completely, which has an interesting effect on the taste.
