Sagan-Daila, or Rhododendron adamsii, is popularly known as the ‘life-prolonging herb’. The taste and aroma are dominated by the sweetness of fruits and honey; if you add a lot or let it brew for a long time, the sweetness will become tart and very rich. There is also bitterness, pine and citrus notes. The pleasant sweetness is balanced by a slight sourness, which gives the drink a special character.

Taste and aroma

The aroma is a mixture of grassy and fruity notes with a slight spiciness. Notes of pine needles, eucalyptus, barberry and green apples predominate.

Effect

It has a rejuvenating and tonic effect, slows down the natural ageing process of cells, energises, helps combat stress, strengthens the immune system, cleanses toxins and helps with hangovers. The decoction can be used as an antiseptic for diseases of the mouth and throat.

How to brew:
Infusion: pour 200 ml of boiling water over 1 g of herbs and steep for 5-15 minutes.
Pouring: pour hot water at a temperature of about 90-95°C over 2 g of dry leaves per 100 ml of volume. Pour off the first brews immediately, gradually increasing the exposure time.

Contraindications:

Sagan-Daila should not be drunk by children, adolescents and people with increased nervous system excitability. The tea is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women. High blood pressure, tachycardia, cardiovascular diseases and migraines are contraindications to the consumption of Adams rhododendron tea. It may also cause individual allergic reactions.
