Osmanthus essential oil is widely used in aromatherapy and traditional medicine in Asian countries. In China, it is widely used to flavour tea. It has a beneficial effect on the skin, moisturising and nourishing its deeper layers, preventing premature ageing. It has sedative properties and the ability to stabilise blood pressure. The essential oils contained in the flowers help with coughs.
Brewed osmanthus flowers are a fragrant, healthy and sweet drink with notes of peach, apricot and apple. It is an excellent aromatic addition to everyday red teas.
How to brew:
Pour 230 ml of water at 90-95°C over 2-3 grams of flowers. Brewing time is 1 to 3 minutes.
