The 250 g brick is composed of the fine fraction characteristic of Gong Ting. The pressing is medium, the edges are easily broken off by hand, but the core is denser. The colour of the dry leaf includes all shades of brown. On warming with the breath, a nutty-chocolate aroma appears with a hint of wet wood and camphor. The brew is black, dense, almost opaque. The flavour is soft and velvety: sweet notes of nutmeg and hazelnut, bitter chocolate, some prunes. Pleasant tannin bitterness of tree resin and coniferous wood. The tea is palpably invigorating, awakening and full of energy.
