A signature Shu Pu Erh from Tea Mail, the raw materials for which were harvested in 2016 in Menghai County, Yunnan Province. The leaves were aged for six years and pressed into neat tea cakes in 2022.
The dark brown tea cake with reddish specks of buds emits an aroma of camphor, cocoa and a slight hay aroma. The brown-red infusion is soft, smooth and does not brew into an ‘oil’. The sweetness of cocoa with nuts and steamed dates is complemented by a pleasant tannic-woody bitterness — it makes you want to grab a thermos and run away with it somewhere into nature.
The tea gives a nice smooth boost, concentrates and fills you up, warms and energises you.
