Cha Gao, also known as Pu Erh paste, tea paste, is not tea, but a concentrate of tea tree leaves. Making such a paste is a rather labor-intensive job: tea leaves are boiled in a cauldron for more than 24 hours with constant stirring and at a temperature no higher than 75°С. After the water evaporates, Cha Gao — a resinous substance — is left on the bottom and walls of the boiler, which is rolled into balls or formed into plates.
Cha Gao Sheng Pu Erh Paste has a floral aroma and a tart pleasant taste. The drink can be brewed in both hot and cold water. It does not require any special storage conditions.
One cube is enough to brew about 0.5 liters of boiling water.
