Ku Qiao Mai, also known as Tatar or bitter buckwheat, is extremely beneficial to health: it improves blood clotting, strengthens blood vessel walls, lowers blood sugar levels, boosts immunity and helps cleanse the body. It brews into a pleasant drink with the taste of oatmeal cookies.
How to brew:
Pour 100 ml of hot water (90-95°C) over 1 teaspoon of buckwheat and steep for 2-3 minutes.
Can be brewed using the pour-over method.
The granules turn into a thick tea with the taste of oatmeal and roasted chestnuts. Naturally sweet, warming and caffeine-free, it is a wonderful drink at any time of the day.
With added apple pieces and cinnamon.
